Still remember Dr. Alex Cross, which was previously played twice by Morgan Freeman in 1997's KISS THE GIRLS and 2001's ALONG CAME A SPIDER? Now the most popular James Patterson's character is back with a new movie (prequel, if you may) called ALEX CROSS. Except this time, Morgan Freeman is not reprising his role. Taking over the Dr. Alex Cross role is Tyler Perry (yes, that Tyler Perry from the MADEA series). Well, personally I find it hard to believe that the filmmakers behind ALEX CROSS would have pick Tyler Perry to play in an action role. Anyway, here's the first poster as well as first look of the trailer right below. You'll be the judge whether Tyler Perry looks the part for such role or not.
And by the way, whoever came out with that cheesy tagline "Don't Ever Cross Alex Cross", seriously needs to reconsider a better one. I mean, this is supposed to be a psychological thriller centers Dr. Alex Cross, not some mindless action-movie extravaganza.
ALEX CROSS hits theaters in U.S. on October 19.
