It's bound to be happen sooner or later, and here it is -- TV's iconic and hugely-popular children's show, Sesame Street, is finally getting the big-screen treatment! Longtime show writer Joey Mazzarino will be on board to pen the script.
The series, which premiered in 1969, has won 138 Emmys during its run. SESAME STREET has actually came to the big screen twice before -- in 1985 with SESAME STREET PRESENTS: FOLLOW THAT BIRD and in 1999 with THE ADVENTURES OF ELMO IN GROUCHLAND.
Shawn Levy, director of family-friendly movies like NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM and REAL STEEL, is attached to produce the big-screen feature.
